02/28 SOTM March Blog Hop

I can not believe that it is already March 1st! The stores feel like spring with spring flowers and Easter grass AND the trees are beginning to bloom. It also means that it is time for the Close to My Heart Stamp of the Month blog hop. If you have been hopping with everyone else, then you have arrived from Pamela O'Connor's blog and you were inspired with a colorful Easter Bunny design from her.

Here is my version of this stamp set. I used the Modern Grid from the Technique Junkies newsletter.

It was not that hard to do. First stamp all of your designs AND then draw the 1" grid behind the images. Using your ink pads and water blender pen, you can easily color all of the boxes for your design. Add doodles to your design and then you are done!

Now it is time to "hop" on over to Nancy Brown's blog and check out her sensational artwork. Enjoy the hop, if at any time you get lost, you can always jump back to Helen's blog here.

I am thinking about eating a chocolate bunny right now! But I will hold off.....

Enjoy!

Close to My Heart Product Blog Hop

This month's challenge is to select a color combination from Jeannette Lynton's blog and create a project using the same color combo. What a fun challenge - don't you think? You can also participate in the challenge by looking at all of the wonderful designs from the "Color Me Monday" challenge here. If you have been hopping along then you have just arrived from Nikka's blog and you have checked out her beautiful artwork! If you would like to start at the beginning, then hop back to Wendy's blog here.

Right now I am sure many of you across the USA are thinking "SPRING"!! SO I thought I would create a spring card and send you warm and sunny days from Tampa, FL. This stamp set is called Wonderful Charms and is perfect for the spring color combo that I selected. It reminds me of the beautiful spring days I remembered in WNY. Ejnoy!

So onto Jill's blog where you can check out her beautiful artwork here. Anyone out there counting the days until spring??

02/14 Happy Valentine's Day!

My gift from my son and daughter-in-law - I absolutely love the colors and the beautiful aroma in my house. Thank you!

Day 9 - Valentine Candy Poppers

I decided to design a project for the VDBC February Recycle Challenge and use up a few of the toilet paper rolls I have been collecting. (drives my husband crazy!) I used Kitty's Cuttings SVG file from the Visual Designs by Chris shop - you can find it here - to cut out the decorative circles.

These are VERY quick and easy to create - fill with candy, wrap in tissue paper and tie with scrap ribbon! I used scraps of the Sweetheart paper pack and an assortment of stamps from my valentine collection.

Enjoy!

Day 10 - Card by Susan Tomaino

My upline is a very talented lady and I love when she treats us with a special holiday card. This Valentine Card is from a few years ago but it reminded me of what some of the ladies are doing this month with the February SOTM. She always attaches a sticky note inside so we can use it.

Day 11 - Childhood Portrait Card Set

Somehow I missed a day..... So I''l catch up with 2 posts tomorrow!

oooh - this is my favorite sample so far! Remember the impromptu guest speaker stint - well, I demoed the spray pen and these are some of my scraps!

To create the moon, placed an empty ribbon spool as a mask. Mix the reinkers with rubbing alcohol - it dries much quicker! Then randomly spray with Z2293 Cotton Candy re-inker mix and then Z2266 Tulip re-inker mix on top.

I love this stamp set! D1373 Childhood Portrait. You can buy all your supplies here.

enjoy!

02/03 Designed 2 Delight February Challenge

Oh my - Thursday comes so fast some weeks! Again - I think I just made it under the wire! While the rest of the USA is buried in snow, we still have sunshine and some warm temperatures - it was 82 degrees this past week - balmy weather!

Here is my challenge for the week another snowman! I am still learning how to use my Copic markers - so he looks like he got caught eating pink snow!

Don't forget to stop by Designed 2 Delight and check out this design and her other awesome digital designs! 2 FREE designs are posted right now!

Day 12 - L-O-V-E card

How many ways can you spell L-O-V-E? Well here is another easy card using retired stamps that I can not bear to get rid of! I love combining shapes from some of the sets to create another look altogether! (I guess this is why I do not get rid of my stamp sets!) This really quick card uses the White Daisy Pigment Ink again and the Black Archival Ink. This combination creates a terrific contrast to the cranberry card stock. A few heart brads and viola - you're done!

Enjoy!

Day 13 -3 x 3" technique card

Love is in the Air in the form of a butterfly! Last week I was the 'substitute' guest speaker for the Tampa Bay Scrapbooking Guild monthly meeting! ( I found out Monday night for the Tuesday night meeting!) I quickly came up with a Spray Pen demo and this cute little 3 x 3" card using the stamp set from the Sweetheart WOTG paper pack! The stamp set is B1370 Sweetheart I also demoed how to create a 'tye-dye' effect with chipboard. The weather was awful! but we all had a great time! I think this little note card is "So Sweet"! How about you?

Valentine's Day Countdown

Day 14 - quick and easy card

Yeah - It's February 1st! One of my favorite months of the year! To celebrate the event I am participating in a CTMH Consultants Valentine's Day blog hop. Come along with all of us as we feature all different types of projects from cards to home decor - anything and everything that celebrates the month of LOVE!

This first card is from the retired stamp set D1286 Today's Date. I used a thin piece of cardstock to make the paper ribbon and punched the tag with a ribbon punch. I use a White daisy Pigment Ink on cranberry cardstock to create the background.

This is one of those stamp sets that I wished I'd never sold!!

enjoy!
