July Make It From YOUR Heart Workshop

Ladies, it is July and I have been crazy busy!  I hope you have all received my July newsletter, if not let me know and I will add you to my CTMH mailing list.  Convention was FAB-u-lous!! and I am all excited about the new product.  But the July workshop is at the top of my list right now!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July and you took lots of pictures.  This paper pack may not resemble any fireworks but it sure does scream red, white and blue!

My layout this month is from the Make It From Your Heart - Volume 1- layout #16.  Yes - there is a Volume 2!!  I am excited to see it and it will be arriving soon...

I had a little help from my fellow consultant, Pam Thorn.  I used her idea for the tag and journaling accent on the lower left.  The pictures are from the Lucille Ball Memorial Park in Celeron, NY.  My hometown is Jamestown, NY and it is not far from this landmark.  If any of you have been to Chautauqua Lake, you will recognize some of the sites.

  

I took these pictures on a beautiful summer day in August of 2010.  I guess I have been saving them for the "perfect" paper pack.....

As usual we will be creating a card with the July stamp of the month.  The original design I found during the recent Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.  You can visit Krista's blog here if you are interested in comparing the two....:)

If you love the Tommy paper pack, then you are in luck!  This paper pack is one of the papers that will move forward into the Autumn/Winter Idea book! Unfortunately the   Buzz and Bumble , Later Sk8tr and Claire paper packs are gone!!  But the G1057 Later Sk8tr Workshop To Go ,is still available....just sayin...  If you want a Workshop To Go, you had better order it soon as the Buzz and Bumble AND the Chantilly ones are already gone!  None of the workshops to go move forward into the new Idea Book!

This workshop ends the Make It From YOUR Heart Workshops.  Starting in August I will be offering the "Artbooking with Addie" Workshop (a.k.a. AWA Workshop) on the second Friday of each month AND the "MiniBook Magic" Workshop (a.k.a. MBM Workshop) on the fourth Friday of every month.  You can sign up for both or only one depending on your schedule!

My Fall Open House is scheduled for August 4th from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.  The theme is "Death by Chocolate".  Check out the August SOTM for the reason behind the theme....

So be prepared to each some mighty fine chocolate treats!  More info coming soon on the Open House.

May "Me and You" workshop

It has been beautiful the last few days here in Tampa!  Our rainy afternoons are starting to return and the grass is green again!

Who are "me and you" ?......  Well it could be my husband and I, just like in these photos....

Or it could be pictures of my 'dad and me'..., my 'mom and me',... my sons and me....  my 'Harley and me'.....

Whoever is your me and YOU, the photos will be perfect in this layout!  This month you will select the color that you want your accents to be...

I used Ruby as this was the theme for this layout for our Valentine cruise in February!  As you can see we are using the For Always paper pack and the accents colors included in the kit!


Check out the flowers that are on the layout - all stamped and crunched - they are a  fabulous addition to any layout!

You can add the hearts and flowers to your layout in one of the 4 colors listed!  Only a few days left to signup for this workshop!  Please RSVP by May 8th!

April Claire Workshop and the Cricut!

Sometimes I think it is funny how my mind 'channels' the thoughts of Close to My Heart!  In my Cricut workshop on April 7th, we practiced using many of the function buttons which Christine explains in this video!!  Take a look at it and see if you agree!

Here is the layout that I created for the April workshop using the "Make It From Your Heart" layout and the Claire paper pack.

The title tag  was quick and easy in the Cricut Craft Room..  Just weld the banner shape in the AP cartridge along with the lettering from the Artiste cartridge and viola!

Here is the last card from the Cricut Basics class created by Sharon.  It required 20 hearts for the design - just use the Quantity button and cut them out all at once! The original design can be found on page 102 of the IB.

April Make It from Your Heart Workshop

I fell in love with the Claire paper pack so this month I am using it to create our 2 page layout and card design!

Claire Paper Pack

Here is the WOTG layout for the Claire paper pack - isn't it cute!

For inspiration with this month's layout, I again returned to Studio J.  I am such a visual person and I hate to waste paper trying to come up with a design that utilizes the Bulk B & T paper. This design is also found in the Magic book and so we are going to add a 4 x 6" flip flap to the font of the layout.

Make It from Your Heart March Workshop

Is it SPRING yet??  I think I speak for the entire country!  But it has been a few chilly days for Florida!  Hey - when the high is 59 degrees it is COLD!

So to celebrate the arrival of Spring in March, my workshop will focus on the "thoughts' of spring...We will be using the Chantilly paper pack and making paper flowers to accent the page.

And the card will feature the new Spinners from Close to My Heart.  What a fun embellishment!!

Happy January!

January used to be my least favorite month when I lived in WNY, but now that I live in Florida, I LOVE January!

Why? - you ask - it was either too warm for snow or too cold to do anything IN the snow!  It was dull and dreary BUT no more!

No, it is time for sun and cool weather (OK - 80 degrees may not be cool...) but it is NOT 90+ degrees!  So with that being said, it is time to move onto the January "Make It From YOUR Heart " workshop!

This month I will be featuring the La Belle Vie paper pack....

 

This paper pack will be retiring at the end of this month so NOW is the time to buy it, if you love it!

Now I am sooo excited to share with you  my good news!  My youngest son is engaged to a very bright and wonderful girl named Elizabeth!  She has her English degree from Berkeley and we always check with her when I have a question about movies or books!

So here is the layout that I started with their engagement photos...so obliviously there has to be more journaling on this layout. ( all about the story...)

You will make this exact layout and instead of "Love" you can select "Family" - either one- it is your choice!  

Plus we are making the SOTM Valentine gift box as well... a  perfect gift for the perfect person!  So if you are ready to be creative then join me!

P.S.  I will have a surprise project for the ladies who have been attending these workshops since they started in the fall.  (No pictures yet - remember it is a surprise!!)

December Workshop

It is Holiday time!!  Get ready for the holiday with this month's projects.  We will be using the Pear and Partridge paper pack- definitely a vintage look to the paper.

The layout is from the 9035 Make It from Your Heart Book - and my little ones are all dressed up for their Holiday photo shoot!

We will also be making a tag for your gift packages  and a little  gift box, perfect for a small trinket!

The gift tag uses S1212 year Round Cheer - the December SOTM.

November Make It From YOUR Heart Workshop

Are you excited for November?  I am!!  Thanksgiving is a great time to remember our blessings and a perfect opportunity for food AND pictures!!  This month's paper pack pack is Flirty.  I must admit it is not my favorite paper pack but I think I have made it work by combining it with Moonlight and some basic fall colors from the CTMH palette

Here is the layout we will be making and you can change the title to "Thanksgiving" or "Give Thanks" or create your own.

Here is a collage of the designs that are in the layout - you will be learning the technique of 'tissue inking'.

The beautiful pictures are my my ONE day of fall weather in WNY.  The rest of the time - I froze!!  Here is the card we will be making - using 2nd generation stamping and color-ready seam binding to match!

November SOTM Blog Hop

Welcome to this month's Close to My Heart SOTM Blog Hop.  Over 60 consultants are participating this month but BE PATIENT.  Some of the ladies who participate every month may be without power and this hop should be finalized by November 7th!  I, for one, know of the fears of living through a hurricane, but thankfully I have never lived through one like this!  our thoughts and prayers are with everyone on the east coast.

If you have been hopping along, then you have just arrived from Shirley's Ross blog  and viewed her awesome creation.  This month's stamp set is S1211 Capture the Date and is a perfect set for all of your scrapbook layouts and cards to make sure you remember the dates of the events!

Here is the artwork from corp which also gives you some alternative ideas to use with this stamp set.

Ironically I flew up to WNY last week to visit my family and see a little of the fall foliage.  Fortunately my plane was scheduled to leave Sunday night and I flew home without any incidents.  One day it was absolutely beautiful ( the rest - no so much....)  It was a sunny fall day with highs in the 70's and I was out taking pictures of the foliage.  Sadly many of the leaves had fallen and by Sunday night, they were blown off the trees!  But I think you can figure out what the date was!

This layout is also the November Make It From YOUR Heart workshop layout BUT you do have a choice of "Thanksgiving" , "Give Thanks" or "Fall" for your wording. I hope to be able to make another layout before the workshop next week - we will just have to see.

Each month I will offer a variety of workshops for a minimal charge - something you can create and LOVE!  Please join me this month on September 14th from 6-9 p.m. as we create a 2 page layout and 3 cards for only $10.00!
