01/01/2010 Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I hope you are enjoying the new year by participating in our CTMH SOM Blog Hop today. You are on the right track if you have arrived from Brae's blog. I just love the NEW My Creations Journal and how she decorated it! We have almost 60 ladies participating this month even though everyone has been busy with the holidays! Isn't this SOM hop fun?? January's stamp set is called True Friends and can be used with cards or with scrapbook pages.

I am not sure why the years just seem to fly by, but I am now entering my 5th year as a CTMH consultant. My husband is amazed that I have lasted this long (usually my attention span is much shorter!) My CTMH business has had it ups and downs ( I am sure many of you can relate to that!) But throughout the years I have managed to start over 20+ scrapbooks and I have only finished one! DO not worry - they are all themed albums and they continue to grow as I take more photos and scrap them.

I also started a new hobby - cardmaking - who knew??? My family and friends love the cards they receive and I love making AND giving them. So it only seems fitting that the card this month is D1406 True Friends. WHY??? Because my TRUE FRIENDS would NEVER throw away any of my cards!

SO check out this circle card using the new Caboodle (X7121) paper pack. I also purchased additional CD sleeves and decorated the outside to make a matching envelope.

Now hop on over to Kami's blog where she has already posted a picture of this awesome stamp set! Remember today is January 1st :) so the NEW CTMH Idea Book is live!! Check out my website to see all of the terrific new products I have to offer.

UPDATE - Here are the pics from Jen Rubio's Standing SOM Swap Enjoy!

11/29 It's almost December!

And you know what that means? Another Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! I look forward to this every month because I enjoy all of the beautiful AND creative artwork from the ladies in this group!

This month's stamp set is D1378 Notice the Details and is great for both cards and scrapbook layouts.

My interpretation of this set is a circle birthday card - what a better way to mark a birthday then by highlighting the date!

Paper Pack: Twitterpated
Inks and ribbons to match
Card is cut with the circle card design from the Gypsy Wanderings set.
Enjoy!

Remember this is a circle blog hop so you will never get to the end, even if you try! :) If you are busy hopping then you have come from Brae's blog and checked out her beautiful artwork by now! Isn't this set a truly versatile set?

Next stop on the blog hop is Jen's blog - where I am sure you will find more creative projects using this set.

The New Idea Book is arriving here on Wednesday and boy am I excited!!! Look for another 4 months of blog hopping from me and many of the other talented CTMH consultants!

Until then...... Hop along!

09/01 It's September!

Where did the summer go? I have been back to school for a week now and I look forward to fall - my favorite season of all! But September does hold lots of new and exciting ideas from Close to My Heart. If you have come from Sheila's blog you are on the right track! Aren't all of the designs this month absolutely stunning? So many CTMH consultants have joined this SOM blog hop and you will busy checking out all of the new fabulous artwork.

The new Idea Book goes live on September 1st (today) on my website AND the new Stamp of the Month is revealed. This month's stamp set is D1375 Treasures - an absolutely beautiful work of art!

I just love the new circle cards in the Wishes book - this card is the Merry-Go-Round design found on pg. 30. The paper is the new X7117 Grace paper pack and the envelope is a paper CD sleeve from Staples. I love the Cricut and the Design Studio because I cut out all of my cards and sleeve cover with the Wild Card cartridge - it was so easy!

Colors include Barn Red, Cocoa, Honey and Twilight. Cocoa organdy ribbon accents the envelope and I stamped the design with our Stazon ink in Timber Brown.

Take a look at all of this fabulous artwork from the CTMH consultants all over the US! I am swapping with a very artistic bunch of ladies!

Now hop on over to Wendy's blog to see more creative artwork using this stamp set! If you get lost while hopping click on these links and check out their work!

08/09 GO Green Challenge

This month's Go Green challenge on the Scrapbooking and Crafting Friends site was to use a soda can tab. Well since I buy soda in Recycle bottles, I found a new use for the tab on my Jenny Beef Chili container! Perfect for my birthday card for a friend who is turning 40! She is the "Recycle Queen" at school and thought this was a perfect card for her! By the way - she loved it! She also got a small notebook made from recycled tires AND a CD case made from recycled materials.

Supplies:
Club Scrap: Great Outdoors paper and ribbon
Font: Impact
Cricut: Cutting Up cartridges (Re)
CTMH Stamps and Markers: D1365 True Happiness, Cocoa, Olive and Topiary markers

Enjoy! and Happy Birthday again Kathy!

01/08 August SOM Blog Hop

Welcome to the August SOM Blog Hop. I hoped you have arrived from Misty's blog - if you did you are on the right track. This month we have over 60 participants so you may get lost along the way but DO not worry. Head back to Jena's blog here and her blog will help you get right back on track!

This month's stamp set D1352 It's Your Day is a must have stamp set because you will always need a birthday card to send! Check out the card I created using the X7112 Animal Cookies paper pack and the Z1162 Foam Die -Cuts Numbers. Isn't it perfect for a basic birthday card? Add the number or numbers for a truly memorable birthday or leave it plain! The card design is from our WIshes Card Confidence Program and is called Sentimental Wave found on pg. 118.

This stamp set is so versatile that you can also use it on your birthday layouts. I finally started AND finished Robbie's 3rd birthday party - what a hoot - only 23 years later!

But you can see how easily this stamp set adapts to a layout as well as a card! Notice how I turned the bow accent into a star accent by stamping it upside down to the original stamped image! With our acrylic stamp sets it is SOO easy to line up the stamps and create another design. You can order the stamp set on my website www.SweetAline.myctmh.com from August 1-31st

Now hop on over to Lori's blog and see what birthday treat she has waiting for you! When is your birthday? Happy Birthday from me!

07/17 "GO Green Challenge"

I stumbled across a new group called Scrapbooking and Craft Friends and joined their Go Green Design Team. The first challenge was to create a project , tag, LO Digi, card etc.

#1st Green Recipe Challenge

Use the color Green!
Use at least 2 things that are Recycled! ( MORE IF POSSIBLE)
Use a Ribbon
Use 3 Stickers or Die cut embellishments!
Use some Ink!
Use 4 different solid Color Paper/Cardstock
Do something you have never done before....

This was quite a challenge as I do not normally use stickers as much as I use stamps! OK - what haven't I done before???? I finally decided to use my Glimmer Mists! Toni H came over and we played afternoon. SO I made a sample and put it through the cuttlebug! WooHoo! Now I am addicted! Look for more artwork coming here soon!

BTW - they are having a 24 hour crop hop on Wednesday July 22nd with lots of games, prizes and challenges - I hope you can us!

Check it out here!

See you there!

07/14 Feeling almost like myself again

I actually felt good enough today to scrapbook. So I decided to put a dent into my huge stash of photos. These are pictures from July 4th, 2005! We spent the 4th with Kevin in Marietta and it has become somewhat of a tradition now. They have a terrific parade but this year my camera's battery died and these were the only photos I was able to get!

Enjoy!

07/14/09 I'm Back!

I recently had surgery on my foot and I am now recuperating- totally bored to death! But I did have my laptop and for 3 days I blog hopped! (What else is there to do with you?) I stumbled onto a terrific blog site with FREE blog backgrounds called Daisy Gray Designs I loaded the pretty watermelon background - so festive for this time of year - and left a comment that I would love a banner to match. Viola! Check it out.....

SO I thought an appropriate card for today is this Watermelon card from 2008.

Also here is another project from last summer, a watermelon flip book.

I hope to be able to create and post a few new projects by the end of the week.
Enjoy! - doesn't this page make you want to go eat such fresh watermelon!!

07/04 Happy 4th of July!

I hope all of you are having a terrific holiday and spending time with your family and friends! Welcome to the Scrapbook News and Review/Card Universe and our inspirational Oh Say Can You See 4th of July Blog Hop.

I'm so glad you could join us. If you came from Korin Sutherland's blog then you are on the right track! If you didn't you may want to hop to back to the beginning and start here

My inspiration came from Jen Rubio, another CTMH consultant and a piece of fabric I purchased at JoAnn's. I have used clothing and accessories as a starting point for years. This technique is perfect for getting my mojo going!

The photo was taken at the Marietta National Cemetery in Marietta, GA. It was a perfect back drop for my card. There were markers from the Revolutionary War up to the Vietnam War. I am so proud to be an American and this place just validated my pride!

A close-up of the card

Materials used:
CTMH Cardstock and inks: White daisy, cranberry, denim blue
Stamp sets: D1286 Today's Date, D1289 July Word Puzzle

Chek out this super creative idea using page protectors as a placemat on Jeanette Lynton's site, founder and CEO of Close to My Heart.

06/22 Happy Father's Day

So I am alittle late - oh dear. Bruce and I celebrated another VERY quiet holiday as our boys are on opposite ends of the country and my family is too far away for a quick visit. But I love making cards for my family and so I made this circle golf card for Bruce from the new Wishes Card Confidence Program. He is golfing again after a two year hiatus.

Enjoy!

06/11 Check out this purse and card project Using D1350 Tender Tags!

It is summer vacation and I love it! Time to play and create! I found this awesome site "Inking Idaho" - check it out here. She has an assortment of very thorough tutorials and I purchased this one for a purse which holds 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" cards and envelopes - isn't it awesome?

The purse is made with the X7097 Game On paper - can you believe it?? I pulled the papers that would work with this idea and you would never know it.

Here is another view of the cards and purse. Enjoy!
