04/30 CTMH SOTM Blog Hop

Happy May Day! When I lived in western New York, I loved the month of May - spring flowers, warmer temps and a greener landscape. However living in Florida, May now brings the HOT weather ... all I can say is YUK! But the best part of the long, hot summer months is that I spend more time indoors with stamps, ink and paper!

Well this is THE place to find out! I received my SOTM swap items today and could not believe how creative some of our consultants are! So if you arrived from Dawn's blog then you are on the right track!


Here is my card design...all I did was heat emboss some of the other chair designs onto a piece of White Daisy paper. Sponged the background with the ink colors from the Lucky paper pack. Then I stamped one chair with Outdoor denim to the design creating a "one-of'-a-kind" look along with the salutation - it seemed perfect to me!


Now it is off to Melissa's blog where you will find another incredible design with this challenging set!

04/23 Turning over a new leaf...

If you have been following any of the MTC legal issues, you will completely understand my recent divorce from Cricut and ProvoCraft. It is with great joy and jubilation that I am now 'in love' with someone else!



I am looking forward to challenging myself in a NEW direction after I retire from Public Education. My heart has always been in teaching but the state of Florida has removed all of the integrity from the profession (IMHO) and I am going to funnel all of my energy into designing and creating works of art. This new machine cuts all different types of mediums including fabric!

So stop by after June 3rd - you'll be glad you did!

04/18 Heart 2 Heart Bunny Hop

Good Morning This week H2H is celebrating their first Bunny Hop! The theme will be Easter or Spring artwork and MUST include CLOSE TO MY HEART products. Everyone is invited to play along but you must post your artwork between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. EST here.

Since I love scrapbooking my memories, I was thrilled to be able to put together this Easter Sunday layout from 1992! The original pictures were smaller and lost some of their beautiful color. But I scanned them and loaded them into the Studio J program and viola - you can see the results for yourself!

What is so amusing to me is how basic these two pages are! I have learned so much over the last year and my current layouts look 100% better! But then I forgot how simple my very first scrapbooking page was in 2001!

04/17 H2H Recycled Coke Can Card

Well I was digging through the recycle bin this weekend and retrieved a Coke can for the Heart 2 Heart Recycle Challenge for this week! I made this card for my husband's co-worker who has been driving him home after work because we are sharing a car with our son (until yesterday!) The first thing I did was cut up the can with a pair of utility scissors.


Then I ran it through the Cuttlebug to emboss the tire image onto the can. I then cut it to fit the card and adhered it down.

Here is the finished card using a retired paper pack called Route 66. the funniest part to all of this is I was actually lying down in the road to take the picture! Only 3 cars drove by..... they were nice enough NOT to run me over...

04/15 CTMH Product Blog Hop

OK - so my Bingo alphabet arrived last night (yippee) and here is my finished layout!

Happy Tax Day!! I hope everyone is enjoying the day and the beautiful Spring weather! If you have been hopping with us, then you have arrived from Lori's blog and have been inspired by her My Creations project.!

I pulled out a package of the Z1321 My Creations A-door-ables for this quick layout from our cruise in January. We enjoyed some 'down time' to play cards and here are a few silly pics hiding behind the doors! I wanted to quickly post this tonight but I am waiting for my D1478 Bingo Alphabet set to arrive tomorrow so I can finish the embellishing.... SO PLEASE stop back for the final product!
