My FREE Studio J Layout

Since June was so hectic - this is the first opportunity I have had to post my FREE Studio J layout. Anyone who really knows me , will understand how excited my husband and I are to finally be RETIRED teachers. I have been teaching for 39 years - 21 years in NYS and 18 years in FLA. My husband was a retired Captain in the Fire Department in NYS and then went into teaching Public Service occupations in FLA.

So here is our Retirement 'photo shoot' and the layout to commemorate the event! I was sooo excited to find that "STITCHING" has now been added to the Embellishments part of the program. Check out the stitching I have added to both sides of the layout - EZPY - just 'click' and 'drag'!

I LOVE the printed quality of the photos in my layout and I can always add the actual embellishments i.e. buttons and brads after to my layouts.

Personalizing Your Layouts

Are you laughing yet at the date of this layout?? I am!! All I had were 5 photos to commemorate my youngest son's first Halloween. Not the digital quality of today and certainly not the 20 I would take today if I was able to relive this event!!






After watching this CTMH video, I was challenged to create a more personalized layout rather than than using the basics.

How I personalized this layout: I enlarge the main photo and cropped the smaller ones to fit the photo wells. I changed the color of the base paper from White Daisy to Pear and distressed it. I added multiple 'stars' and 'eyeballs' to embellished the layout.

2 Scrapbook Layouts in 30 minutes!

Same Layout - different paper packs and pictures!



Really? How is that possible?? Studio J - that's how!! Can you see the slight differences in the layouts?

Difference #1 - The "New Car" layout has one photo is the upper right hand corner BUT it is actually 2 photo wells in the layout! The "Cruise" layout has a photo in each photo well.

Difference #2 - The "Cruise" layout (L) has a vertical journaling box to the left of the main photo - the "New car" layout - I used the My Stickease for the year of the event.

Difference #3 - I used the My Stickease from the paper pack a part of my title for the layout. The text boxes were used with no background or mats allowing the photos to show through in the layout.

Difference #4 - The borders at the bottom of both pages are created slightly different. The "Cruise" layout has the border as set by the default in Studio J. The "New Car" layout - I used both borders and enlarged the blue striped border to 110%. The border on the left side I pulled off the page to the right to make it appear as part of the first layer of paper in the template. (Look at the Cruise layout under the large photo) I then added the second border on top of the striped border at the default size.

Difference #5 - The "New Car" layout ( lower R) has a "My Stickease" tag with journaling while the "Cruise" layout has a sticker from the "My Stickease" paper pack.

Difference #6 - The buttons on the "New car" layout are 'brought to the front' but in the "Cruise" layout they appear without any obstruction.

04/18 Heart 2 Heart Bunny Hop

Good Morning This week H2H is celebrating their first Bunny Hop! The theme will be Easter or Spring artwork and MUST include CLOSE TO MY HEART products. Everyone is invited to play along but you must post your artwork between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. EST here.

Since I love scrapbooking my memories, I was thrilled to be able to put together this Easter Sunday layout from 1992! The original pictures were smaller and lost some of their beautiful color. But I scanned them and loaded them into the Studio J program and viola - you can see the results for yourself!

What is so amusing to me is how basic these two pages are! I have learned so much over the last year and my current layouts look 100% better! But then I forgot how simple my very first scrapbooking page was in 2001!

11/06 It's beginning to feel like FALL!

Wow - it was so cold last night that I had to add another blanket! But it does inspire me to create Thanksgiving and Christmas projects! Here is the last layout that I created last month while my husband was having minor surgery!

11/03 Studio J Thanksgiving Layout

How can you add several photos in one layout? Studio J , of course! Here is one of the layouts I made while I was waiting for my DH at the hospital - I LOVE Studio J!


My sister and her family visits and share Thanksgiving with us in 2004.....




We had a great time in spite of eating AND sleeping.....

10/29 The layout that started this "BOO-fest"!

Kevin came up with the idea! Big Brother dinosaur - little dinosaur - baby brother.... So I designed and made the costumes and they won 1st place at the Cub Scout Halloween Contest in 1985! Studio J helped me to recreate the memory in 2010! How AWESOME is that?!!!





I just wish that Studio J would be able to bring back my little boys.... but alas they are all grown up now! So I will just have to be happy with my memories - THANK YOU Studio J!

10/29 Halloween Digital Pages

What a treat! Not to have surgery BUT to have WiFi at the hospital and create scrapbook layouts while my hubby has minor surgery! That is exactly what I did yesterday! Plus the luxury of altering the colors of the pages, adding the larger photos - a snap!

10/09 Studio J Halloween Layout

oh my! How did this happen?...... I think I was kidnapped and spent the last 5 days in outer space!! BUT now I have returned to BOO you!!!! Someone cast a spell on me - darn Jeanette!- and now I am hooked on Studio J! Seriously I never thought I would become a digital scrapbooker but there are sooo many benefits to this "Magical Medium" that I am hooked!

My favorite holiday is Halloween (did I tell you that yet?) and Robbie LOVED Halloween - It was the only time he would willingly go into Joann Fabrics! He would pick out the pattern and then I would sew his costume. Do I remember the year? - NO - but now that Robbie is all grown up I can scan the 3 photos and import them into the Studio J software and 'viola' create an awesome layout that he can show his 'kids' when he becomes a dad!

Happy Birthday to me! My entire family came home to celebrate my birthday with me - I am a truly lucky girl! This layout literally took me only 15 minutes to complete - digital scrapbooking is becoming my new BFF! AND in September it will be cheaper to print the entire layout compared to 1 large photo! SOOO ask me HOW!!

04/03 Studio J.com - Digital Scrapbooking coming soon!

Digital scrapbooking is the newest trend in the scrapbooking industry and as usual CTMH is offering a superior product! Once it is up and running you will be able to create your layouts from my website and then purchase them directly from the website. This 2 page layout took me less than 15 minutes to put together, approve and order. Digital layouts are ideal for my family photos that my children send me as the pictures fit perfectly into templates I select on the website. I do not have to decide and pay for 4 x 6 or 5 x 7 photos - the program is smarter than I am! Add some embellishments, stickers and type in my journaling and I am ready to order! I plan to add additional embellishments with buttons, brads and ribbons once I received the layouts.
