Yes - it is really 'user-friendly'! I have several posts on my blog using the Cricut Craft Room, so just click on the Cricut Craft Room selection in the Labels panel on the right and you will find my designs. I have included some of my files in the posts to share as well.
To help you get inspired, you can view this video from Close to My Heart giving you a basic tutorial of a few functions such as "Hide Contour".
