I created this tall box using a transparency that I had leftover from my teaching days.. (no more overhead projectors anymore!). Or you can use a 'not so perfect' page protector.
The cricut cut it perfectly - I used the same setting that I do for our cardstock- blade=6 pressure is medium - I placed the design in the upper right hand corner along with the transparency and I was able to cut it with no problem.

Here is another version of the same idea. I cut out the page protector ASBM (as set by machine) at 5",
I used 'red line' tape to hold it together after I scored it.
